So, what do I actually do?
I am a freelance marketing consultant based in Brisbane, Australia, but with clients in a range of cities. I specialise in developing strategic marketing and communication plans to help my clients achieve their business goals. I provide a range of services including:
- Strategic marketing
- Corporate communication
- Project management for marketing communication projects
- Internal communication and change management
- Copywriting, editing and producing written materials including annual reports, websites, journal articles, newsletters, media releases, brochures and booklets
I work closely with my clients to make sure the proposed marketing activities will meet their needs in terms of achieving goals and objectives, budget and timeframes.
I have done a lot of work with small business, and also with Cooperative Research Centres. Some examples of projects and clients include:
- Morris Accounting – developed and now implementing a marketing communication strategy. Currently writing a series of ‘plain English’ information sheets and articles on a range of taxation topics including self managed super funds, negative gearing, investing in agribusiness and tax and investing.
- Food Connect – developed an integrated marketing communication strategy and now assisting with implementation.
- CRC for Construction Innovation – Worked with the industry Taskforce on three separate projects to develop and implement communication and consultation strategies, aimed at improving occupational health and safety in the construction industry. I was responsible for coordinating the development of the industry best practice guides, media activity, national launches and industry workshops.
- Annual reports for:
- CRC for Construction Innovation 2005-06
- Animal Biosecurity CRC 2006-07 and 2007-08
- Annual Report summary for Sustainable Tourism CRC 2005-06
- Individual reports for the partners of the CRC for Construction Innovation and Animal Biosecurity CRC
- Australian Pork Limited – wrote and edited a series of fact sheets to inform various sectors of industry about the Pig Pass project, to improve livestock traceability and product integrity in pork products.
- Smart Service Queensland – rewrote and edited three technical reports on Web 2.0 projects so they could be simply understood by Executive Management and stakeholders with little or no knowledge of the technical concepts. Also coordinated the inaugural Open Week event.
